What a surprise - no disturbances from the revellers - the hotel stayed quiet as a mouse. A great sleep... and a great way to start the holiday.

The FH show is just up the road (20 minutes away) and there's plenty of time left.

I'll head on over and see if there is any breakfast to be had...

The trip down into Wales was exciting as ever!! Gotta love that M4!

I've got a hotel room in Cardiff West and things don't look pleasant when I see that there's a crowd of football revellers outside the pub attached to the hotel - a quiet evening seems to have just flown away.

It's holiday time... again... but first there's a Family History Fair in Llanstrisant.

Jeanne and John are up in Burnley doing some research and attending a function or two for the Halsted Trust, so we won't be doing our 'Census Detectives' thing. The SoG will be attending with the bookstall, so I have agreed to meet up with Michael and give him a hand.
We have arranged that I will meet him at the SoG library this morning at 11 to assist in the loading of the books.

That having been done I am on my way to Wales - I'll meet up with Michael tomorrow at the show - 8:00am start at the hall.

I am now getting around to the updating of my various websites and content. My current domain hosting service has now improved, so I plan a revamp of the www.walter-family.org website.

That site will be the main online database of the family tree and hopefully a repository of photographs, both family history as well as my journeys in the UK and beyond.

I am planning on using this blog to document the new family history information as I go.

I have also updated the blog with much of the narrative content of the w-f.org site. I have a few more notes to move across and I will be posting them under the dates on which they occurred so as to maintain some assemblance of a chronology...

- on this day, William Lindsay Walter passed away.

Husband to Jean
Father of Stephen, Helen, Susan and Graham (me)
Grandfather to Leila, Sebastien, Lindsey, Bill and Sophie

He will be missed but he is now at peace.
