On the way back...

..to the UK on Virgin Atlantic flight VS026.

Well I booked a car to go from the hotel to JFK and then realised that the time booked was just 30 minutes before the flight was due to leave! The paper had both of my flights listed and I think I must have read the the arrival time of the first flight or something... anyway, a quick adjustment and all was set to get to the airport...

Get up at 3AM (sheesh) and downstairs to wait for the car coming at 4. Whilst waiting I had time to check-in over the internet. Frank the night-manager decided that he needed to demonstrate the wonders of his singing voice and launched into a medley of Tony Bennett numbers!!

The car arrived on time (whew) and an hour ride to the airport was completed in 25 minutes. The plan was, as ususal, to get to the airport a couple of hours ahead of time to allow for the rigours of security, etc. As is becoming a constant in these processes, I arrived at the airport early - the queues through bag-drop and then security are not as long or slow as predicted and so I find myself at the departure gate at 5AM - about the time I planned to be arriving at the airport! It's early enough for the shops to be closed and another 90 minutes before boarding the plane... Time to go hunting for coffee...
